Viva La Vee Bow-hem...and Drama, too!

A cut-n-paste of my recent post on the TU Theatre Alumni Blog:

**Bad Scott!! Bad Scott!!** Thank you for the kick in the arse that was so deservingly needed. For many of us, this blog is a chance to keep in touch, to vent, to explore, to support, or pretty much anything else we make of it. LIFE HAPPENS (you could insert another 4-letter word, but...) and so does that 4-letter word beginning w/ "S," but if we're on this puppy, let's at least show that we're still alive....who's with me? **Dr. Cook's voice in the darkness saying "Crickets...crickets"** OK... but Merica's right in that she provides more entertainment via her life and kids than I can imagine. I'm still rolling from her needing sedation after the 3/4" screw incident (I guess being a fabulous uncle doesn't give me any authority on the insanity of raising kids) plus the FDA contraception deal-ee-o...well...um...yeah, men will have raging boners w/ and for some skanks that might not care about babies, abortions, etc. I agree that the sexual drug industry revolution is completely skewed in the male favor...the stigma of women being ho's if they had emergency contraception is ludacris. I swear we had equal rights in this country, and that includes the options of maximum enjoyment and potential "consequences".

I'm sure many of you have seen 'Rent'... right? Any thoughts, comments, criticisms? (I'll refrain for now, but I will say in a nutshell that I liked it, I really liked it!)

My film shoot is completed and the movie website is available for viewing at http://www.nextmonkey.com ...go under the 'Horror Movies' section and click on "Carthage". I'll let everyone know when (and if) we have a public viewing/preview once editing and music/sound are completed. It's nice to know I'll be part of the feature-length script of this in the summer!

I'm auditioning this Sunday for Theatre Tulsa's 'Laughter on the 23rd Floor,' set to run in the 1st half of February '06...would be my first show since April... **fingers crossed** If that doesn't work out, then I'll try for ATC's 'Great Expectations' running in March. (Alas, I cannot do or try for BACP's 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' due to Jeff's and my sister, Monica, having Basic Training Graduation in San Antonio for the Air Nat'l Guard during the show's run... **sigh** Yesterday, Dr. Cook, Caroline Coburn-Wright, and myself did our annual MacDeath scenes for the kiddies at Okmulgee H.S. as part of an educational grant thing-ee...this was my 3rd year doing it and Caroline's 2nd (my first year year I did this w/ the Melissa Enochs)... it's The Scottish Play in the Fall and Ham-a-lama-ding-dong in the Spring (just not this year). Doc has been sick recently so send him your thoughts.

Thank you to everyone for their support of Jeff & Candy during the 'transition'... not easy for anyone to go through, but life goes on and so do The Gaffii!! Much love to my bro!

New updates on my blog site: http://scottgaffen.blogspot.com for those who care and for those who don't.

Missing you all,
The House Manager
